What is a Heat Loss Calculation and Why Do I need one?
A heat loss calculation is a detailed assessment of every room in your property. The data from this then provides a report of the property’s total heat loss in calculated in watts (W). This allows for the correct specification of the heat pump, along with the specific heating outputs for individual rooms. This precision enables the system to run at the lowest possible flow temperature, resulting in higher efficiency and lower running costs.
What is an Air Source Heat Pump?
An air source heat pump extracts heat from the outdoor air and uses it to warm water. The heated water is then circulated through the properties heating system (radiators, underfloor heating etc). This ensures that your property receives a consistently comfortable level of warmth. Additionally, it possesses the added capability of heating the water stored in a hot water cylinder, supplying hot water for your taps, showers, and baths.
The process begins with the absorption of heat from the air into a special fluid. This fluid is then directed through a heat exchanger within the heat pump, where it undergoes a temperature increase before transferring this warmth to the water.
